A Survivor’s Diary from the Annapurna Blizzard - October 2014
Survivor and Saviour
Our journey began on 4th October 2014, driving from Kathmandu to Syange across Besisahar. When we reached Throrung Phedi on 12th October, suddenly, from 6:00 pm, slight snowfall began in the Annapurna Region. We had hardly begun the Thorung Pass Trek the next day at 4:00 am when the whirlwind and snowstorms started. The trail was beneath the snow, and visibility was too poor. I HAD LOST HOPE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE JOURNEY! However, I guided my guests and other trekkers to a safe place by defeating all the hurdles. IT’S A CALL FOR HUMANITY!
